01 - About This Guide

That’s a weird way to start a guide, isn’t it? While I think my set of writeups is a decent starting point for doing recreational hypnosis, I think you’d benefit more from reading The Newbie Guide to Hypnosis. Ideally, read both my guide and Binaural’s - but if you had to pick just one, read theirs. You’ll come out with a more nuanced view on the subject as a whole.

This pile of words intends to be the fastest way to safely(ish) delve into recreational hypnosis in VR. You’ll be missing out on quite a bit of nuance, but if you just want to get started, this is the way.

I’m also assuming that you’re brand new to this. I’ll be providing some background not only on hypnosis, but also some perspective on how to find and work with subjects. What you’ll have to provide on your own is a connection to your own community, and an understanding of it’s intricacies. The groups I frequent meet multiple times a week, most of the individuals there with a preference (or even yearning) for being a subject.

In addition, I’ll likely be challenging a few of your ideas on what hypnosis is. I’m not just trying to piss you off - I’m trying to piss you off and aggressively giving you more options on ways to work in the future.

I’m not your vibe? That’s cool! Here’s some other options I’d recommend.
