210.00 - Suggestion Tools vol. 1
Here’s a a quick toolbag you can use for giving suggestions! Is it comprehensive? No. Will Utilization, Pacing and Leading take care of 90% of the situations get into? Yes. Will this guide continue to ask and then answer it’s own questions? Probably.
Non-toxic Positivity
Ideally - your suggestions should invite action instead of avoidance. Compare…
“You can find your body, just a bit more comfortable and relaxed than the last moment. In fact, as moments pass by, you’ll be able to find yourself in a state of peace as your body settles…”
VS:
“Try not to think about how much Taco Bell you just ate. You don’t notice how heavy your gut is. You don’t notice that you ate too much. And you definitely aren’t thinking about any possible aftermath as you continue to relax and listen to my voice.”
This is not a hard and fast rule. This Method No. 4 induction from 1899 still slaps, and it does everything “wrong” from a modern perspective. Give it a go! (Maybe just uh - don’t follow any of the other advice in that book.)

Suggestion Suggestions
Here’s some unorganized tips for giving suggestions…
- Keep them simple and easy to follow.
- Give time for suggestions to take place.
- Ask people to look for the minimum noticeable difference.
- Talk about what you’d like to happen during the pre-talk. You can simplify the suggestions you give later because you’ve laid everything out earlier.
- Start with smaller suggestions or suggestions you are more confident will be effective, then build on top of them.
- Be open to coaching your subject on how to execute the suggestion. How would you do this without hypnosis?
